Logistics and Supply Chain Officer

Job Description

The Logistics and Supply Chain Officer is responsible for coordinating foreign currency requests, processing letters of credit and telegraphic transfers, and managing import logistics from shipment initiation through customs clearance to the final delivery of ICT equipment and related materials. The role requires close coordination with suppliers, freight forwarders, banks, customs authorities, technical teams, and customers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

Candidates with a technical background in ICT or a related field are preferred to effectively verify product specifications during customs clearance inspections and review technical details in shipping and import documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end supply chain process, from procurement to final delivery. 
• Coordinate international shipments via air, sea, and courier services. 
• Prepare and review import documentation, including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Air Waybill, Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Conformity, insurance documents, and other shipping documents. 
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure compliance with Ethiopian customs regulations. 
• Process and monitor Letters of Credit (LC), Telegraphic Transfers (TT), and other trade finance transactions with banks. 
• Follow up with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs agents to ensure timely shipment and clearance. 
• Track shipment status and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders and customers. 
• Verify product specifications against purchase orders and project requirements.
