Job Description

Temer Properties is pleased to invite qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the position of Project Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our team.

Key Purpose Statement:

The primary purpose of the HSE Coordinator is to promote and maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible work environment by implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations. The role is responsible for identifying and controlling workplace hazards, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements, conducting inspections and safety training, investigating incidents, and fostering a strong safety culture to prevent injuries, protect the environment, and support the successful completion of construction project sites.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. HSE Compliance Management

  • Ensure compliance with project HSE plans, procedures, and statutory requirements. 

  • Monitor adherence to permit-to-work systems. 

  • Support compliance with client and subcontractor safety standards. 

2. Site Monitoring and Inspection

  • Conduct daily site safety inspections. 

  • Identify hazards (Unsafe conditions) and unsafe acts/ behaviors. 

  • Verify implementation of corrective and preventive actions. 

3. Incident Management

  • Report incidents, near misses, and dangerous occurrences promptly. 

  • Participate in incident investigations. 

  • Track and monitor corrective action implementation. 

 4. Risk Assessment and Control

  • Preparation and review of risk assessments and method statements. 

  • Verify effectiveness of control measures. 

  • Monitor high-risk activities, including working at height, excavation, lifting operations, electrical work, and confined space entry.

5. Safety Training and Communication

  • Conduct site safety inductions for new workers and visitors 

  • Coordinate toolbox talks and safety briefings. 

  • Communicate lessons learned and safety alerts. 

 6. Emergency Preparedness and Response

  • Maintain emergency response procedures. 

  • Coordinate emergency drills. 

  • Ensure availability and inspection of emergency equipment. 

 7. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports. 

  • Maintain inspection records, training records, and incident logs. 

  • Update HSE performance statistics and KPI dashboards. 

  8. Sub-Contractor and Workforce Engagement

  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with HSE requirements. 

  • Encourage worker participation in safety observation programs. 

  • Initiate safety meetings
